| Is it a house? Is
it a home? Is it a hotel? Is it a place where families live together and share their
concerns while their children are hospitalized? Yes, it is all of those things and much, much, more. It is a safe haven, a
port in the storm for the thousands of families that stay in Ronald McDonald Houses each
night all over the world.
For the children who are ill, it's knowing that their families are close by. For the
families, it's knowing that they are not alone... that they're with people who understand,
who share their concerns, who can draw strength and hope from each other. For both the
children and their families, it's knowing that there's a comforting, peaceful place to go
away from the hospital.
"Ronald McDonald House staff, words
really can't express the gratitude we feel but I'll give it my best try. I just want to
express what a great relief it is to have the Ronald McDonald House so near and handy when
one has an ill child. From the wonderful staff to all the volunteers that donate items,
cook meals, or clean you all should give yourselves a pat on the back from me. You are all
making a positive, wonderful difference in the lives of the families you serve. I have had
the honor of utilizing the "House" several times for lengthy stays in the past
few years and have been very comforted to call the Ronald McDonald House "Home".
It's so nice after a stressful or even uneventful boring day at the hospital to return to
a warm meal, comfortable bed and friendly smiles."
"Please share this great appreciation
with all the volunteers and donors. You all need to know how much you are
appreciated".
"It has been wonderful to have a
gathering place when extended family come to visit".
Thank you all so much!
