 Grant Information

McDonald's founder Ray A. Kroc taught his family to share its success with others, a philosophy which has characterized McDonald's community commitment since 1955. The establishment of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Ray's memory confirmed this commitment to children everywhere.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa provides grants to not-for-profit organizations whose programs help children reach their fullest potential in three distinct areas:

Civic and Social Services
Education and the Arts
Health Care and Medical Research, including Ronald McDonald House

In addition to supporting the Des Moines Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa, Inc., supports other children's programs by giving grants to not-for-profit organizations benefiting children throughout the community. The local grant money used to support these charities comes from fund raising efforts of McDonalds' restaurants in Central Iowa. Through collection canisters in McDonald's restaurants and local and national promotions, monies are raised and given to RMHC. Matching funds from RMHC's Global office are also available for some grants.
