Capital Campaign Vision
The 45 and Forward Capital Campaign is a investment in the future of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa. As we celebrate 45 years of keeping families close, we are building on our legacy to meet the growing and evolving needs of the families we serve. This campaign will strengthen our spaces, enhance accessibility, and expand critical services, ensuring every family who walks through our doors feels safe, supported, and at home. Together, we are moving forward with purpose, compassion, and a commitment to serve families for the next 45 years and beyond.
Capital Campaign Elements
Your generous support will help fund many site and service enhancements including but not limited to:
Playground: Expanding our outdoor space and replacing the existing playground with fully accessible, inclusive equipment designed for children of all abilities. This upgraded environment will provide safe, engaging, and developmentally supportive play opportunities that allow every child, and their families to connect, explore, and experience joy together.
ADA Shower Room for Day Guests: Provides a fully accessible, private shower space designed to meet ADA standards, offering comfort, dignity, and essential hygiene support for day-use families who need a safe and welcoming place to refresh.
Motion-Sensor Lights for Outdoor Safety: Enhances security and visibility around our campus with energy-efficient, motion-activated lighting that helps families, volunteers, and staff feel safe when arriving or leaving during early mornings or late evenings.
Over-the-Phone and Virtual Translation Services: Expands our ability to serve diverse families by providing reliable, on-demand interpretation in multiple languages, ensuring all guests can communicate clearly, access resources, and feel fully supported during their stay.
Reading Nook Mural: Creates a warm and imaginative space for children and families through a custom, artist-designed mural that transforms the reading nook into an inviting, comforting environment that encourages relaxation and connection.
Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers: Upgrades our kitchen with high-capacity, commercial-grade refrigeration and freezer units that improve food storage, support large-scale meal preparation, and ensure families have consistent access to safe, fresh meals.
