The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa is committed to improving the quality of life for children and their families through a variety of solutions. Volunteers help make a difference in the lives of the children and families served in both of our Houses — by cooking, greeting, listening, cleaning, or simply being there and helping out in any way they can. Volunteers are the heart of RMHC, helping to offset costs and allowing the Charity to direct more donations to services supporting children and their families. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
HOUSE VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa support the daily operations of the House by assisting with tasks like cleaning, preparing guest rooms, organizing donations, doing laundry, and other various tasks. These roles ensures a clean, welcoming, and comfortable environment for families staying at the House while their children receive medical care. Whether you are an individual or a group, there are lots of opportunities to volunteer!

VOLUNTEER KITCHEN: We have two volunteer kitchens - one at our House near Blank Children's Hospital, and one at our House inside MercyOne Children's Hospital. Opportunities to volunteer in our kitchen include baking a sweet treat, packing to-go meals, making casseroles, or providing a savory snack.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS: Each year, we host 5 Annual Fundraising Events benefiting RMHCCI. We couldn't do these events without the help of our amazing event volunteers. Tasks include setup, teardown, general event support, and more! This opportunity is available for individuals or groups who are 18 years of age or older.
