Volunteers help by keeping our Houses beautiful, our kitchens full, and our
families well cared for. Whether it is helping around the House, baking a sweet
treat, making a casserole, or helping at one of our events, we have plenty of
opportunities for someone to help. See below on how you can volunteer for the
RMHC of Central Iowa.
HOUSE HELPER: We rely on our House Helpers to keep our Houses clean, warm, and a welcoming place for our families. Our House Helpers warm the hearts of our families and truly make our two Houses a home-away-from-home. This includes preparing rooms for the next family to check in, laundry, light cleaning, organizing donations, stocking our pantries, and more!
UTILIZING OUR VOLUNTEER KITCHEN: We have two volunteer kitchens where someone can come in and bake a sweet treat, make some to-go meals, or make a savory snack, or help with our casserole club.
HOUSE DECORATIONS: This is a great opportunity to help get the House ready for the holidays by donating holiday-themed gifts or decorating our House in a festive way. We are looking for door, window, and table decorations to brighten up our house. This is great if you have young children who are budding artists.
COLLECTING POP TABS: This is a great opportunity for someone to give back, and anyone can collect pop tabs. You can collect them by yourself or collect them with a group of friends or coworkers!
EVENTS VOLUNTEER: We have many different fundraising events for 2024, all benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Central Iowa. These include: Wine Women and Shoes, RMH Golf Outing, "Ron Don" Cigars, Bourbon & Brew, Sporting Clays, and our Red Tie Gala. Volunteering at one of our events is a fun way to give your time. Tasks during our events often include registration, silent and live auction assistance, set-up and tear-down, assisting with lunch or dinner, coordinating games, and selling raffle tickets.
